FreeMium JayRain is a Discord music bot with no premium tier — the free tier is the only tier. Instead of hosting audio itself, the bot plays music through Lavalink nodes that users run on their own machines. It offers a small set of commands (/play, /setup, /mynode, /console), an in-chat console posted to the voice channel's text chat, and a web dashboard with per-server control panels.
Plainly: the bot cannot play music until a usable node is linked — your own node, your server's node, or a node shared by a member of the server. If no healthy node is available, the bot will say so and point you at the setup guide instead of playing anything.
Your node runs on your own computer, under your control. You are responsible for its operation and security — including choosing a strong node password and keeping your machine online while you want music to work. You are also responsible for complying with the terms of any audio sources you configure on your node (such as YouTube, Spotify, or other providers). The operator does not run, monitor, or take responsibility for user-operated nodes.
Bot-specific behavior, distinct from the dashboard: the Discord bot connects to voice channels to play audio, posts and updates its console panel in voice-channel text chats, reads plain messages in those chats as song requests (messages starting with / or ! are ignored), and makes outbound health-check connections to linked nodes. The bot never plays audio through infrastructure operated by us — all audio flows through user-linked nodes.
FreeMium JayRain is provided as-is and on a best-effort basis. It may be offline for maintenance or updates at any time, with no guarantee of uptime. Music availability additionally depends on user-operated nodes being online, which is outside the operator's control.
How the bot and dashboard handle data is described in the FreeMium JayRain Privacy Policy.
These terms may change. Continued use of the bot or dashboard after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Questions about these terms: contact the operator via Discord (obi_stonedkenobi).
